The Bad Guys
1) Caravans out of Delzimmer to Luiren are being attacked. Raiders are composed of goblins orcs and gnolls and seemed to be armed with dwarven made arms and armor. The plot to disrupt trade routes at sea using a false lighthouse seems to be instigated by a group called the "Quiet Shadows", some sort of thieves' guild. While wandering around the town Krenalir, the group hears that the community is troubled by raiders. Irrstra's interviews a local who indicates that the dwarven merchants may be outfitting the "Raiders" with armaments. Motivation of the dwarves: monopoly on trade, protection racket... Pirates and raiders seem much more active than they have been in the past. The Bog King, in the Mortik Swamp, has begun organizing attacks on caravans in a coordinated fashion. Caravan route from Krenalir back to Shoun, it would seem that someone in Krenalir is feeding information about the raiders, as a dozen aquatic ogres and a dozen aquatic trolls were waiting in ambush at the right time and place. Near the Focus, party has found a long forgotten ancient dwarven citidel under a hill belonging to the Yvvivor clan. It seems to have been taken over by ogres and trolls (under the leadership of the Bog King?). Could this be the source of the dwarven made arms and armor that the caravan raiders have been using? Aquatic trolls and ogres, gnolls and gnoll aberations are attacking Hin watchtowers along the border of Mortik swamp. Our heroes have been sent to rescue those in the third watchtower... Have returned to the Mortik Swamp to witness the Bog King's army of devil-trolls march away from some ancient ruins and towards civilization. Our heroes are entering the ruins to find clues to the army's target and perhaps confront the Bog King and thwart his plans... Learned that the Bog King was actually 2 twin black-dragons, both escaped. Their names are Waervaerendor and Voaraghamanther. 2) On the route betwwen Beluir and Shoun, discovered a burnt caravan with a dying halfling whose last words claimed to have found the Jade Chalice, North into the mountains at the ruins of Talon Pass. Something attacked them, the colours of it, beautiful like death, scales turned spears and arrows. Took Eldran and Baskara, who are adventurers and sometimes bring small but rare items to sell. Jade Chalice may be linked to Yuan-ti. Talon pass may be pass in the Toadsquat which is filled with Monsters. There is tower at Talon pass which may house the Jade Chalice. Jade Chalice was passed down by royalty in an ancient eastern empire. Heard a rumour that Avan Astra led an adventuring party to retrieve the Jade Chalice after the party had confided with him about the information, only to have him warn us not to tell anyone about it. Avan Astra appears to have been corrupted by some evil artifacts and used them to try and destroy the Hin by cutting off access to all divine powers. Our heroes were able to stop Avan Astra and restore the connection to the divine. Could this be linked to the Emerald Queen? 3) The Luirwood are deep and dark and contain many dangerous animals, and is home to the ghostwise halflings. Our heroes are also concerned to hear of terrfying tales of ghost attacks on the local halfling population. Hruldar, a town in Luiren, site of the ghosthin war, worshipping Malar (under attack from nightmare creatures). Upon arrival in City of Hruldar, frantic ghostwise hin said "The stone is gone". The city's protection is gone. Our heroes entered a dome prison filled with aberant creatures. Our heroes destroyed Desva's aberant creature creating machine, and forced Deva, a devil/angel/mad druid to flee from them, although Deva and our heroes escape the dome before it was re-sealed. Horus the singed wizard fled creatures of Desva, Desva in the sundered tower floating in the negative plane. using his infernal machine to create more abonimations, powered by negative plane and life force of creatures. Tower protected by ring of black iron, to touch is death, requires short teleports to bypass. Asked the party to free his 3 friends. Horus the singed wizard was taken away by Delzimmer guards. The Delzimmer high council claims to have know knowledge of his whereabouts. 4) The inhabitants are also buzzing about news of an "Angel falling to earth" in Shoun. Lady A investigates the reports of an "Angel". Few facts found, just rumours. Rescued the Angel had been kidnapped by a tribe of Ogres that did self-grafting experience. The angel was brought to its wrecked 'starship' where it stepped into a glowing egg and vanished, shortly after the 'starship' self destructed along with the mountain top. There appeared to be some sort of alliance of chaos-aligned creatures and humanoids (even good ones) to stop the 'lawful' angel. 5) Dambrath, Luiren’s western neighbor, has a long history of aggression against Luiren and the Hin. Though Luiren and Dambrath are currently at peace, Dambrath is massing soldiers at their border and are leading incursions into Hin territory. 6) Hin are disappearing near the South Luiren Woods. May be related to 4) above regarding the grafted Ogres who kidnapped the Angel. 7) Dwarven werewolverines from Degshanat, a dwarven trading post halfway between the Great Rift and Delzimmer, are attacking and infecting the citizens of Delzimmer with lyncanthropy. Delzimmer merchant princes have tasked party to find root of curse/infection and destroy it before the were-plague overruns their town. The party defeated the Beast Lord of Malar and destroyed the unique ingredients being used by a hag to accelerate the were-infection. 8) The Delzimmer Council have promised the party 12,000 gp each if they can find the source of dwarven weapons being used by the tribes of orcs, hobgoblins, trolls and giants. The Delzimmer Council hopes to use this information as leverage when trading with the dwarves in the Great Rift. Upon ariving at the Great Rift, the party finds that there is almost no more trading, and non-dwarves are not being let into the dwarven trading centres. They learn from Roryn's Hight Priest Bob the Builder and Teverak Silversmith that the Great Rift is in turmoil as each clan claims the throne. Some clans may be selling weapons to enemies of the dwarves but if so, it is being done in secret and their is no proof. To rout at this evil and restore law and order, the clans must be united. To do so, the party must find an ancient relic, the Hammer of Gyrand Diamonmer, an ancient leader of the gold dwarves. A renegade dwarf, Ivar Firehand, had broken into Gyrant's tomb and stole the hammer. The Hammer of Gyrand Diamonmer was found buried with the renegade dwarf in his own tomb. Teverak Silversmith insisted on taking the hammer himself back to the Great Rift. The Hammer of Gyrand Diamonmer is apparently intelligent and forced the heroes to fight amongst themselves. Leeloo gave the the Hammer of Gyrand Diamonmer to Teverak Silversmith to end the strife. Roryn had reservations of giving it to the Queen without it being blessed by the priests first. Hight Priest Bob the Builder tells the heroes that Teverak Silversmith and Carradoc the elf druid met with Queen, but left still holding the hammer instead of using it to unite the clans. The Queen had sought external support from Carradoc the elf druid for food in case of civil war. Teverak Silversmith and Carradoc the elf druid have gone into the old kingdom of Great Bhaerynden, which is blessed with veins of metal gems through out. The dwarves had been driven out by the drow, who renamed it Telantiwar. The dwarf god Dumathoin cursed the Great Bhaerynden so that all in the area suffer corruption/madness. Within two generations, the drow had all killed themselves out and the area has been abandoned since. The Hammer of Gyrand Diamonmer is heart of dwarven kingdom, but cannot be destroyed there nor could it be used to break the curse, so why have Teverak Silversmith and Carradoc the elf druid brought it here? Could Teverak Silversmith and Carradoc the elf druid be in league with Desva, the mad druid?
