This fine quarterstaff is engraved with stylized feathers and extremely light. It weighs only 1 pound.

The "Feather Staff" is a Magic Quarterstaff for determining what it can hit. The "Feather Staff" has the finesse, light and versatile weapon properties.

As a finesse weapon, the wielder of the "Feather Staff" can, when making an attack, use either Strength or Dexterity for the attack and damage roll modifier. You must use the same modifier for both rolls.

As a light weapon, the wielder of the "Feather Staff" can use a bonus action to strike using the other end of the staff for 1d6 bludgeoning damage as if attacking with two-weapons.

As a versatile weapon, the wielder of the "Feather Staff" can be used two-handed to strike a single blow to do 1d8 base damage instead of 1d6. When used in this manner, the wielder cannot use a bonus action to strike with the other end of the staff.

History:

  • The "Feather Staff" was created by a human monk.
  • The "Feather Staff" is in the armoury of Kragmaw Castle, which is filled with goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears. It is not known where or how they obtained the "Feather Staff".

    Design Notes:

    Its value is 200 gp (uncommon).
    = 100 gp for the finesse weapon property (uncommon ability)
    = 100 gp for the light weapon property (uncommon ability)
