This vial contains an ochre red liquid.

One vial is enough to coat one weapon with giant centipede poison. The poison is used up after a successful hit.

Giant Centipede Poison is an injury type poison that can be applied to weapons, ammunition, trap components, and other objects that deal piercing or slashing damage and remains potent until delivered through a wound or washed off. A creature that takes piercing or slashing damage from an object coated with the poison is exposed to its effects.

If hit, target must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or take 3d6 poison damage.
If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for l hour, even after regainng hit points, and is paralyzed while poisoned in this way.

History:

  • Giant centipedes in the underdark are feared for their poisonous bite.
  • Nera Aquilae was able to harvest one dose from a venom sack from one of the three giant centipedes that attacked her and her companions.

    Design Notes:

    Its cost is 250 gp.
    - 500 gp for being a rare item but divided by 2 for being a consumable item.
