Campaign: Tablets of the Old Ones

This wooden tablet is inscribed with ancient runes in an unkown language.

The ancient runes on "Tablet of Tbd", once translated, can be read as follows:

The "Tablet of Tbd" is known to sometimes magically transport itself short distances so as to find itself in the possession of those it deems worthy.
Those that are deemed worthy may find themselves drawn to the tablets location.
Attuning to the artifact takes an hour and during this time, those deemed worthy enter a trance as they commune with "Tbd" directly and agree to be their avatar.
Once attuned, the bearer of the tablet is able to sense the direction to other "Tablets of the Old Ones".

The "Tablet of Tbd" acts as a divine focus to cast spells with for Clerics of Tbd.

Once attuned, the bearer of the "Tablet of Tbd" gains the following abilities:

  • the character gains one class level as a Cleric of Tbd (tbd domain?) for free.

    History:

  • Captured and used as slave labour by gnolls in the under dark, Bruenor - Artisan of the Spellforge, Faeril Lastborn, Korit Solunn, Moogoo the Magnificient, Nera Aquilae, and Vlad, managed to eascape the gnolls, but now the companions must work together to escape the underdark and return to the surface.
  • The companions fought a drow patrol, but two escaped and brought reinforcements under the command of Vilania, a female drow spellcaster (sorcerer?/cleric?) who was able to overwhelm and capture them.
  • Vilania already possessed the "Tablet of Tbd".
  • Vilania released the companions, so they could track down another "Tablet of the Old Ones" located in the territory of a tribe of lizardfolk.
