This suit of splint armor shows its antiquity as it appears to crumble, fray, chip, or crack slightly when worn, giving it a decrepit appearance.

"Netheril Splint Armor" is essentially a suit of Splint Armor +1.
Despite it's decrepit and ancient appearance, its ancient magic is still fully functional.

History:

  • "Netheril Splint Armor" was crafted during the heyday of the now fallen Netheril empire, an ancient human kingdom.
  • At some point in the past, a hobgoblin tribe outside Phandalin had found a fogotten stash of magic items dating back to the fallen Netheril Empire, an ancient human kingdom.
  • Pearl recovered this suit of "Netheril Splint Armor" from a leader of a hobgoblin patrol.
  • Pearl sold the "Netheril Splint Armor" in the town of Farway to raise the funds needed to buy "Pearl's Plate".

    Design Notes:

    Its cost is 700 gp.
    - 200 gp for the Splint Armor and 500 gp to make it Armor +1 (rare item)

    Inspired by the tables in the DMG on page 142-143 to make this magic item unique. Basically, they provide ideas for the creator, history, minor property and quirk.
