This suit of scale mail is made from the hide and scales of a young green dragon.

"Green Dragon Scale Mail" is made of the hide and scales of a green dragon. Since it is not made from metal, it can be worn by Druids.
While wearing "Green Dragon Scale Mail":

  • you gain a +1 bonus to AC,
  • you have advantage on saving throws against the Frightful Presence and breath weapons of dragons, and
  • you have resistance to poison damage

    Additionally, you can focus your senses as an action to magically discern the distance and direction to the closest green dragon within 30 miles of you. This special action can't be used again until the next dawn.
    This suit of "Green Dragon Scale Mail" will also grow slightly warm when within 120 feet of any other green dragon.

    Unfortunately, this particular suit of "Green Dragon Scale Mail" will pass on some dragon traits to its user while worn.
    When the bearer is presented with an opportunity to act in a selfish or malevolent way, the item heightens the bearer's urge to do so (DC 10 Wisdom save to resist).
    The item's bearer also becomes obsessed with material wealth.

    History:

  • Reidoth, the Druid of Thundertree, warned the heroes about the danger of Venomfang, a young green dragon that had taken up residence in the old wizard tower.
  • After the heroes slayed Venomfang, Reidoth used his ancient Druidic skills to craft a suit of "Green Dragon Scale Mail" from the hide and scales of the young green dragon.
  • Unknown to Reidoth, Venomfang's essence still permeates throughout the "Green Dragon Scale Mail", which can impint some dragon personality traits on the wearer.
  • Other green dragons and their minions will recognize the work of their ancient Druidic enemies for dominance of the forest, and will single out the wearer of the "Green Dragon Scale Mail" as an enemy to be destroyed.
  • Reidoth, the Druid of Thundertree, currently wears the "Green Dragon Scale Mail" to protect himself against the foes of nature.
