Campaign: The Lost Mine

This breastplate has a gold dragon motif worked into its design. The insides of the breastplate is reinforced with a strange metal.

"Dragonguard" is a Breastplate +1, which provides a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this armor.

"Dragonguard" is reinforced with adamantine, one of the hardest substances in existence.
While you're wearing it, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit.

"Dragonguard" grants its wearer advantage on saving throws against the breath weapons of creatures that have the dragon type.

History:

  • "Dragonguard" was created for a human hero of Neverwinter named Tergon, by the dwarves and gnomes of Wave Echo Cave eons ago.
  • "Dragonguard" was lost and forgotten after the orc attack on Wave Echo Cave.
  • Coryn recovered "Dragonguard" while exploring Wave Echo Cave and after defeating a floating eyeball creature with four wavy eye stalks.
  • Coryn arranged to have the Armorer of Phandalin take the adamantine reinforcing his scale mail and use it to reinforce "Dragonguard" instead.

    Design Notes:

    Its cost is 1,100 gp.
    - 400 gp for breastplate, +500 gp to make it Armor +1 (rare item), +100 gp for adamantine (uncommon ability) and +100 gp for advantage on saves vs dragon type breath
