This thick woolen cloak has ben dyed in splotches of different shades of browns, oranges and greens.

As a masterwork tool (base cost = 50 gp), a Forester's Cloak has an intricate color pattern that grants a +2 circumstance bonus on hide checks when in a forest terrain.

In addition, a Forester's Cloak is often enchanted to grant anywhere from a +1 to a +10 competence bonus on hide checks, but only when in a forest terrain (half cost to enchant a skill bonus since it is only good for one terrain type).

The total price and bonus listed above includes the combined circumstance bonus and competence bonus.

Other versions of this cloak exist for other types of terrain, including:

  • Aquatic terrain = Buccaneer's Cloak
  • Desert (sandy) terrain = Genasi's Cloak
  • Hills terrain = Hiker's Cloak
  • Jungle terrain = Bushmaster's Cloak
  • Marsh (moor or swamp) terrain = Swamp Rat's Cloak
  • Mountains terrain = Mountaineer's Cloak
  • Plains terrain = Nomad's Cloak
  • Tundra (frozen artic) terrain = Voyager's Cloak
  • Underground terrain = Spelunker’s Cloak
  • Urban (city) terrain = Vagabond's Cloak

    History:

  • Roweena Starfinder, a local ranger from the village of Peldan's Helm in Mistledale, wears a Forester's Cloak to help her hide while hunting in the forest. Roweena Starfinder is also a descendant of Peldan Faern, the original founder of Peldan's Helm.
