This sturdy adamantine winged helm looks just as it did the day it was forged.

The Helm of the Colossus is a dwarvencrafted adamantine helm that combines the abilities of an Angel Helm (MIC p71 - base price = 10,000 gp) and a Helm of Battle (MIC p111 - additional ability = 2,000 gp x 1.5 = +3,000 gp). In addition, it grants a +2 competence bonus to spot (additional ability = 400 gp x 1.5 = +600 gp)

The Helm of the Colossus allows a good-aligned wearer to emulate certain traits of celestial beings. Your melee attacks are treated as good-aligned weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. This is a continuous effect and requires no activation.

In addition, the Helm of the Colossus allows the wearer to use cure critical wounds, dispel evil (DC 17), and resist energy (acid or cold only) as spell-like abilities each once per day at caster level 9 as a standard action.

  • cure critical wounds = 4d8+9 hp
  • dispel evil (DC 17), duration = 9 rounds or until discharged
    	1. gain +4 deflection bonus to AC vs evil = 9 rounds (unless 2 or 3 used and spell is discharged)
    	2. melee touch attack extra planar creature = Will save DC 17 or go home, discharged
    	3. auto dispel any enchantment cast by evil creature, or any one evil spell, discharged

  • resist energy (acid/cold only) = 90 minutes, acid or cold resistance = 20

The Helm of the Colossus favors tactical maneuvers over brute force. When activated as a swift action, the wearer gains a +2 bonus on the next attack roll or ability check made to attempt a bull rush, disarm, overrun, sunder, or trip attempt during their turn. This ability functions three times per day.

They are normally part of the Armor of the Colossus magic item set and when worn with the Colossus Heavy Plate, they also share the blueshine and twilight properties. If worn on their own, these properties are temporarily lost while they are apart.

The Helm of the Colossus grants no benefit to non-good wearers.

    History:

  • Ska'arr recovered the Helm of the Colossus from an interdimensional Netherese Lair.
