These adamantine gauntlets are made for a suit of heavy plate armor and show the distinct stark edges of dwarven craftmanship.

The Gauntlets of the Colossus are a pair of dwarvencraft adamantine gauntlets.

They are normally part of the Armor of the Colossus magic item set and when worn with the Colossus Heavy Plate, they also share the blueshine and twilight properties. If worn on their own, these properties are temporarily lost while they are apart.

As a dwarvencraft weapon (see Races of Stone, p159), it is stronger and harder than a comparable masterwork item. A dwarvencraft item’s hardness increases by 2, and it gains an additional 10 hit points. In addition, it gains a +2 bonus on all saving throws. All of these effects stack with the similar bonuses for magic items if the dwarvencraft item is made magical.

As an adamantine weapon, the Gauntlets of the Colossus are automatically masterwork quality which provides a base +1 enhancement bonus to hit in combat. As adamantine, they ignore hardness of less then 20. They also deal lethal damage during an unarmed strike.

    History:

  • When Ghelryn "Goldhand" Foehammer forged a suit of Colossus Heavy Plate for Ska'arr, the Gauntlets of the Colossus were included.
