    This breastplate is made from the scales from several different type of chromatic dragons (black, blue, green, red and white).

    The Chromatic Breastplate is a Chromatic Dragoncrafted Reinforced Segmented Breastplate +1.

    Since it is made from dragonhide, the Chromatic Breastplate is considered nonmetallic, so a druid can wear it without penalty.
    Base Cost = 700 gp.

    It has been dragoncrafted, so it is treated as light armor, and reduces the armor check penalty by 2. The dragoncrafting provides energy resistance = 5 vs acid, cold, fire and electricity. This energy resistance is treated as an extraordinary (and thus nonmagical) feature of the armor. It doesn’t stack with any other energy resistance (of the same type) possessed by the character.
    Cost = +6,000 gp + 4,000 gp x3 = +18,000 gp

    The Chromatic Breastplate has been reinforced to provide added protection. This increases its armor bonus by +1, but it weighs 3 pounds more than a typical breastplate for a total of 33 lbs (see Dragon Magazine 358).

    The Chromatic Breastplate has also been crafted into segments to increase its articulation. This increases its maximum Dexterity bonus by +1 (see Dragon Magazine 358).
    Cost = +200 gp.

    It has been enchanted with a +1 enhancement bonus to its armor AC.
    Cost = +1,000 gp.

    The Chromatic Breastplate is part of the Attire of the Sylvan Dawn magic item set.

    History:

  • Dawn Starfinder, a Druid, Diviner and Arcane Hierophant is destined to wear the Chromatic Breastplate.
  • As an Arcane Hierophant, Dawn Starfinder has a 0% chance of arcane spell failure when casting arcane spells since the Chromatic Breastplate is considered nonmetallic, which druids can wear without penalty.
