    Background

Dwor left his home deep in the earth in search of adventure and riches. His prowess with a longaxe earned him some coin as a caravan guard, but not the hoards of treasure he longed for. He supplemented his meagre wages by “allowing” certain items from the caravans to be “lost” in transit for a fee. While enjoying a pint at the Yawning Portal one evening, Dwor was offered a small fortune if the last wagon of the next trade caravan was “lost” in transit by one of his kinsmen, calling himself Jarundar. Dwor agreed without thinking about what it would take to “lose” a whole wagon. Eight heavily armed Ogres and several rogues is what it took to “lose” that wagon. The caravan of four wagons was reduced to kindling and the guards and drivers were easily dispatched. Dwor’s right leg was severed just above the knee by the Greataxe of one of the Ogres that ambushed the caravan. Dwor heard Jarundar order the Ogres to leave no witnesses as the warm embrace of unconsciousness enveloped him. Pennyweight had easily picked up the trail of the Ogres marauders and followed, hoping to cash-in on the mayhem and pick-up a few trinkets. Instead he found one of his regular clients with one of his legs severed and potentially bleeding to death. PW quickly camouflaged his and Dwor’s presence from the Ogres and the other members of the ambush team. Once the coast was clear, PW dragged Dwor to his home and tended as best as he could the massive wound. Shooting pain from his right foot awoke Dwor. He found himself convalescing in the subterranean home of small-time Halfling thief/fence Pennyweight. After several months of convalescing in PW’s home, Dwor began the slow journey back to Waterdeep to inflict vengeance upon Jarundar and the Red Sashes.
