The Lost Mine - Important NPCs

Gundren and Nundro Rockseeker

  • Gundren, Nundro and Tharden Rockseeker are three dwarven brothers who discovered the whereabouts of Wave Echo Cave.
  • Gundren Rockseeker was a prisoner of King Grol at Kragmaw castle until freed by the heroes.
  • Nundro Rockseeker was captured, imprisoned, and tortured by the Black Spider until freed by the heroes.
  • The third brother, Tharden Rockseeker, was murdered by the Black Spider long before the heroes arrived.
  • Gundren and Nundro Rockseeker are thankful to the heroes for saving them and for clearing out Wave Echo Cave of danger.
  • Gundren and Nundro Rockseeker have pledged to provide the heroes with 10% of the profits from Wave Echo Cave.


    Sildar Hallwinter

  • Sildar Hallwinter is a kindhearted human male of nearly fifty years who holds a place of honor in the famous griffon cavalry of the great city of Waterdeep.
  • Sildar Hallwinter was captured by goblins after an ambush to deliver Gundren Rockseeker to King Grol at Kragmaw castle.
  • Our heroes saved his life before he became the center of attention of a goblin feast.
  • Sildar Hallwinter wants to help restore Phandalin to a civilized center of wealth and prosperity.
  • Sildar Hallwinter wants to create a Phandalin constabulary.


    Mirna Dendrar

  • Mirna Dendrar is originally from Thundertree where her parent's ran a herb and alchemy shop.
  • They had to flee when Mount Hotenow erupted to the North thirty years ago and devastated Thundertree.
  • She grew up in Neverwinter and learned to be a herbalist from her mother.
  • Mirna married Thel Dendrar, a wood worker in Neverwinter.
  • They moved to Phandalin a few years ago to start a new life with their kids, Nars, their thirteen-year-old son and Nilsa, their eighteen-year-old daughter.
  • While Thel plied his trade, Mirna ran the business and accounts.
  • Unfotunately, the Redbrands murdered Thel to intimidate the rest of the townfolk and kidnapped her and her children to sell them into slavery.
  • Our heroes rescued Mirna, Nars and Nilsa from the Redbrands.
  • The heroes even found and returned her mother's gold necklace with an emerald pendent (200 gp), an old family heirloom left behind in Thundertree when she and her parents hastily fled.
  • Mirna has been teaching Nilsa her herbalism skills and can now pass on to her the old family heirloom when the time is right.
  • Nars, while young, is a gifted woodworker, and plans to follow in his late father's trade.


    Daran Edermath

  • Daran Edermath, a fit, silver-haired half-elf well over a hundred years old, is a retired adventurer who lives in a tidy little cottage beside an apple orchard in Phandalin.
  • Daran is a fighter who served as a marshal and herald for many years in the lands of the Dragon Coast, far to the southeast.
  • Upon retiring, he returned to the Neverwinter region, his original home.
  • While Daran is no longer an active member of the "Order of the Gauntlet", he keeps an eye on happenings around Phandalin.
  • Daran Edermath inducted Pearl into the "Order of the Gauntlet" after defeating Kost the Red Wizard necromancer and his undead horde at the Old Owl Well.
  • As part of the ceremony, Daran Edermath, a fellow follower of Selune, gave Pearl his old Moon Cloak to help her in future battles against evil.
  • Daran Edermath presented his old Selune's Crescent Moon Amulet to Pearl of the Moon as a reward for defeating King Grol at Kragmaw Castle and his goblinoid minions.
  • After defeating the "Black Spider" and destroying the undead haunting Wave Echo Cave, Daran Edermath and Pearl performed a ritual to increase Pearl's bond with Selune via Selune's Crescent Moon Amulet.
  • Pearl of the Moon has donated tithes to the "The Order of the Gauntlet" to further help Daran with managing operations around Phandalin.


    Sister Garaele

  • Sister Garaele is a zealous young elf and Cleric of Tymora, goddess of luck and good fortune.
  • Sister Garaele maintains the only temple in Phandalin - a small shrine made of stones taken from the nearby ruins and dedicated to Tymora.
  • Sister Garaele had asked our heroes to seek out Agatha the Banshee to find out what she knows about the location of a spellbook belonging to a legendary Harper mage named Bowgentle.
  • Our heroes were able to tell Sister Garaele that she traded Bowgentle's spellbook to a necromancer named Tsernoth from the city of Iriaebor more than a hundred years ago.
  • Sister Garaele thanked our heroes for this information, and that her "friends" should be able to use this new information to locate the spellbook of the legendary Harper mage named Bowgentle.


    Reidoth the Druid

  • Reidoth the Druid is a gaunt, white-bearded human who doesn't use two words when one word will do.
  • He is a member of the Emerald Enclave, a widespread group of wilderness survivalists who preserve the natural order while rooting out troublesome threats.
  • Reidoth the Druid visits Thundertree from time to time, to keep a wary eye on its dangers.
  • Our heroes got in his good graces by ridding Thundertree of many dangers such as the ash zombies, giant spiders, twig blights, and the green dragon Venomfang along with a cell of dragon cultists.
  • After the heroes slayed Venomfang, Reidoth used his ancient Druidic skills to craft and wear a suit of Green Dragon Scale Mail from the hide and scales of the young green dragon.
  • Reidoth the Druid frequently visits Phandelin to visit his good friend Qelline Alderleaf at her farm.
  • He will often sleep in her hayloft instead of a stuffy old inn, but will often go incognito as an old farm cat demanding head scratches that will happily cuddle up to sleep with female adventurers.
