- Chapter Fifteen

The adventurers decide to continue down into the ice giant's cave. PW scouts out the left cave corridor with Smokey on his shoulder. It's blocked off by a cave-in. Xana searches for secret doors and finds nothing. PW scouts out the right corridor and finds a big boulder blocking it. PW searches for secret traps and finds nothing. Ebreck sees tracks belonging to giants and dragons coming and going. Smokey finds a hole and sees 3 more corridors.

The adventurers proceed down the middle corridor and find a fork... They take the left corridor and find a big kitchen area. Xana finds no secret doors around the kitchen wall. PW continued down the corridor off the kitchen and finds another fork. Down the left corridor, he hears dogs/wolves and down the right corridor, he hears nothing. Down the left corridor, PW sees 7 ogres doing menial tasks. PW goes down the right corridor and finds 5 winter wolves chained to the wall.

Fight with 7 ogres

Nuria launches a fireball in the middle of the ogres and hits them.

PW shoots a cross-bow bolt to an ogre for 15 pts of damage.

Nuria magic missiles killing one ogre.

PW hides in shadows.

Ebreck fires two arrows and kills one ogre.

Xana fires two arrows at an ogre.

Ebreck fumbles.

Agrona fires one crossbow bolt and kills an ogre.

Xana fires an arrow at an ogre and misses.

Ogres try to hit Nuria and miss, but hit HHH.

HHH impaled an ogre on his lance.

PW sneak attacks an ogre and skewers him with his rapier and kills him.

Ebreck shot two arrows at the last ogre and kills him.

Altogether, they have 14 gp on them.

Fight with winter wolves

Agrona casts silence in the middle of the room with the wolves.

Ebreck fires 4 arrows at the wolves and killed it.

HHH fires an arrow at the wolves and hits.

PW fired a crossbow bolt at the wolves and hits.

Xana fires 2 arrows and hit the wolves.

Ebreck shoots 4 arrows and hits them.

Agrona shoots a crossbow bolt and hits.

PW shoots a crossbow bolt and hits.

Xana shoots two arrows and hits.

HHH shoots a crossbow bolt and hits.

Nuria fires a crossbow bolt and hits.

Agrona fires a crossbow bolt and hits.

HHH shoots a crossbow bolt and hits.

Xana shoots 2 arrows and hits.

Ebreck shoots 4 arrows and hits.

PW sneaks past the remaining two wolves to scout the next area and finds 3 fire giantesses shackled to the wall.

Nuria shoot a crossbow bolt and hits.

Agrona tried to shoot a crossbow bolt and misses.

Ebreck shoots 2 arrows at the wolves and hits.

Xana tries to shoot an arrow and misses.

Nuria shoots a crossbow bolt and kills a wolf. (Meanwhile, HHH is practically dying of laughter considering we're fighting and killing wolves that are chained to the wall... SUCH A FAIR FIGHT! 43 pts of damage seems to be the recurring theme!!!)

Editor's Note: This is the MOST ridiculous fight I've ever been a part of!

Ebreck shoots 4 arrows and hits.

Xana misses.

Agrona kills the last wolf.

The adventurers decide to camp in the cave to recoup spells, but on the way out to get the horses, the boulder that was blocking the right corridor has now moved open.  Ebreck finds dragon tracks coming out of the corridor.  PW makes it outside and finds the horses gone and spatches of blood where they stood.

The adventurers decide to continue forward (since they lost everything that the horses were carrying - including rations).  Ebreck scouts the darkened corridors and shows that all three corridors extend 90 feet with chambers at the end, but that's all he could see.

The group decides to talk to the captive giantesses and nominate Xana to talk to them with the Rod pieces (for Tongues).  She asks them a few questions regarding where they came from (Hell Furneces), do they know Crimson (Yes, he passed through our stedding), how were they captured (while scouting the area), do they anything about the Underdark (no), where will they go once released (back to their stedding to regroup and fight the ice giants), do you know anything about the drow (no), how many dragons are around here (2, one small, one big), will they help us fight the ice giants (no, we have to get back).  The group releases them and they leave.  The adventurers decide to continue exploring the cave.

PW goes in the dark corridor to explore, and finds the dragon's lair down the right corridor.  PW goes down the left corridor and finds lots of a stuff on the walls, pelts, skins, mounted teeth and claws of scorpions among many other things, tusks, tapestries, wings, great axe, human-size armor and sheild, huge iron mace, jaws, light crossbow, buckler, etc.

Nuria checks for magic (finds a light shield and elf sized plate mail).  PW spot and search checks the room, behind tapestries, etc and finds nothing.  Nuria appraises the first tapestry and determines that it's worth 300 gp.  The second tapestry is worth 500 gp.  The pelt of a cave bear is worth 100 gp.  The hide of a su monster is worth 200 gp.  The tusks are the value of ivory.  The pelt of giant lynx is worth 500 gp.  The wings of giant eagle are worth 250 gp.

The group decides to take the following items: hide of su monster (Agrona), pelt of giant lynx (Nuria), pelt of cave bear (Ebreck), all armor items taken by Henrietta.

"Pillaging my wares are you?", comes a roar down the hallway... Then the adventurers see boulders incoming into the room. PW gets hit with 2 boulders. Ebreck gets hit by a boulder as well.

Fight with 4 ice giants including a spellcaster

Ebreck rapid shoots at the giants and hits one of them.

PW hides in the shadows.

Ebreck gets hit with 2 rocks, and HHH gets hit with a rock as well.  The spellcaster casts a Silence spell.

(HHH stop playing with your dice!!! :))

HHH cast smite evil and hit with his lance.

Henrietta doing a full attack with two claws and rends one of the giants.

Xana shape-changes into an eagle and flies above the combatants.

Nuria does a full defensive retreat to the back of the chamber.

Agrona retreats to the back of the chamber and shoots a crossbow bolt to the giants and misses.

Ebreck shoots two arrows at the giants and hits both times.

PW shoots a crossbow bolt and hits.

Giants attack PW with a huge great axe rendering him unconscious (-2). They attack HHH but miss.  They attack Ebreck and render him unconscious (-4). The spellcaster casts Doom on HHH and saves himself.

HHH attacks with his longsword and casts smite evil.  Critical hit.

Henrietta attacks with 1 claw.

Xana casts Dispell Magic and succeeds (BIG CHEER!!!!!).

One giant tried to attack HHH and misses, but the other hits.

Nuria casts Rainbow Pattern to mesmerize one of the giants and succeeds. (Rainbow Boy!!!)

(PW, flashback to the drug experiences!?!?!?)

HHH attacks with the longsword and smite evil, hits.

Agrona casts Cure Light Wounds en masse for 16 hp (bringing back PW and Ebreck from the brink).

Ebreck stands up and shoots two arrows at one of the giants. Hits.

PW stands up and runs away.

One giants attack HHH and succeeds. Another attacks Ebreck and renders him unconscious (-8). Spellcaster cast Hold Person on HHH and fails.

HHH attacks with longsword and succeeds.

Henrietta attacks with 1 claw and a bite. Kills one giant.

Xana casts Drifts of the Shalm bringing leaves to confuse the spellcaster.

Nuria moves the rainbow pattern so that the ice giant follows it.  She attacks a giant with a scorching ray and hit critically.  The second scorching ray hits as well and killed him.  One giant left and the spellcaster.

Agrona casts Cure Light Wounds en masse for 13 hp (bringing back Ebreck from the brink).

Ebreck stands up and shoots one arrow and hit.

The spellcaster casts a spell (Spiritual Weapon), PW shoots a crossbow bolt to the caster, hitting him, but the spell is cast towards HHH who makes the save against it.

HHH attacks with longsword and smite evil and succeeds.

Henrietta attacks with a bite and succeeds.

Xana casts Flaming Sphere igniting the leaves around the spellcaster and succeeding in injuring him but he saves himself from the Flaming Sphere damage.

Spellcaster tries to cast Spiritual Weapon on HHH and fails.

Agrona casts Spiritual Weapon on the spellcaster and succeeds.

Ebreck shoots arrows and hits.

PW hides in shadows and moves.

Spellcaster attacks HHH and succeeds.

HHH attacks with the longsword on the spellcaster and succeeds.

Henrietta is raging because of the inferno and rends the spellcaster.

Xana casts Produce Flame.

Nuria casts Magic Missiles on the spellcaster and succeeds.

Spellcaster's Spiritual Weapon on HHH and succeeds.  Also attacks him with his axe and succeeds.

Agrona's Spiritual Weapon and succeeds.  He casts Searing Light and succeeds. Spiritual Weapon succeeds again.

Ebreck shoots 3 arrows and kills the spellcaster.

The remaining ice giant (Rainbow Boy!) is still mesmerized by the spell cast by Nuria.

HHH has a vision from his God but cannot divulge it until he is resurrected.

Agrona casts Spiritual Weapon twice on the ice giants.

Ebreck tries to shoot 2 arrows and critically hits PW rendering him unconscious (-2).

Agrona heals PW with a Cure Critical Wounds.

Ebreck shoots 2 arrows at the ice giant and hits.

PW sneak attacks with a crossbow bolt and succeeds.

(HHH IT'S YOUR TURN!!!!! lol)  <---- although he's dead!!! :)

Xana hurls her Produce Flame and succeeds.

Nuria magic missiles and succeeds.

Agrona's spiritual weapon succeeds twice.  He casts Cure Critical Wounds using the prayer beads in his possession to cure PW.

The ice giant turns around and moves towards Ebreck.

Xana hurls her Produce Flame and succeeds.

Ebreck shoots 4 arrows and succeeds.

PW attempts to attack with his rapier and to bluff him. Succeeds in killing him.

49 pp were found on the bodies.

The adventurers move into the ogres room to rest for the night. Ebreck sets up an alarm on the doorway. They pool their resources (suit of human full-plate, 80 pp, two tapestries, all hides and pelts, lenses of speed reading) in order to resurrect HHH, and he comes back with a shiny new War Hammer. He tells us that our friends who died in Hell Furneces are waiting to be remembered.

Day 185

Nuria uses all mending spells to make 2 platinum rings and 10 pp for a spell focus.  Agrona and HHH get one each to use as a focus.

Agrona and Nuria heal Ebreck and HHH.

The adventurers explore the rest of the cave (darkened corridor), huge ivory bone throne decorated with skulls, silver and gems.  Behind it is a white dragon hide and in front, a huge polar bear skin.

PW searches the room for secret doors, etc... and finds one under the throne.  The gems around the room are: 1 diamond, 40 huge quartz, 5 topaz, 10 ambers and 20 citrines.  Nuria does an appraisal on all the gems for their value: diamond (5000 gp), quartz (10 gp/each), topaz (1000 gp/each), ambers (100 gp/each), citrines (50 gp/each).  Appraisal of the hides: polar bear (1000 gp/15 lbs) and dragon hide (no value/150 lbs).
