    The Purple Rapier is at least a magic Rapier +1.

    At a minimum, the Purple Rapier has been enchanted with magic to provide a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage.

    Any other magical properties of the Purple Rapier, if any, are currently a mystery. It is also unknown if it is made from a special material that gives the Purple Rapier its purple sheen.

    History:

  • Barid Belmedar awoke suddenly in the middle of the night, something heavy on his chest pinned him to his bed. The last thing he saw before he died was Shodan's face smiling fiendishly above him as Shodan plunged the Purple Rapier into his open mouth, piercing the back of his throat, seperating his spinal column from the base of his skull, and sending his soul to oblivion.
  • Barid was soon resurrected and has full retention of all his memories from his first life and death.
  • When Shodan was slain by a gelatenous cube, Barid enacted his revenge by having the Grand Bloodletter of Bane raise Shodan from the dead and place a Geas spell on him to undermine the Knights of the Shield.
  • Whether Shodan will still have possession of the Purple Rapier (along with his head) once the Geas is done is up to the fates still.
