This mighty composite bow has been reinforced with bands of black iron and the bone of a huge blue dragon. A runic phrase describing Granpar's heroic deeds runs along the length of the blue dragon bone while the black iron bands are inscribed with runes representing the grounding of mystical energy. The silver-white hand grip is decorated with a single golden sun and set with three diamonds.
Granpar's Bow is a Sacred Magebane Mighty Blue-Dragonbone Composite Longbow +1 (STR 14).
As a mighty composite longbow, it has a strength of 14, providing a +2 strength bonus to damage.
Since it is crafted from Blue-Dragonbone (see Draconomicon, 117), the bow’s range increment is 20 feet longer than normal for the bow’s type, so as a composite longbow, it has a range increment of 130 ft
It has been enchanted with magic to provide a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage.
By speaking the appropriate command word, you can activate Granpar's Bow Sacred enchantment, which will sheathe it in luminous positive energy. If you are not undead, this energy does not harm you; otherwise, you take 1 point of Charisma damage for each round that you hold the weapon. This effect lasts until you speak another command word to end it. While activated, Granpar's Bow deals an extra 1d6 points of damage to any undead target (or 2d6 points against an evil outsider) on a successful hit. Also, it is treated as good-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Granpar's Bow bestow the sacred property upon its ammunition.
As a magebane weapon, against any creature that can cast arcane spells or use invocations (CAr 7), Granpar's Bow enhancement bonus to hit and damage increases to +3 each, and deals an extra 2d6 points of damage. Granpar's Bow bestows mage bane upon its ammunition.
