    This dagger is crafted from the talon of a large black dragon. Attached to its pommel is a fiery red crystal that appears to burn with a heatless flame.

    The Dark Shard is a Black-Dragonfang Dagger +1.

    It has been enchanted with magic to provide a +1 enhancement bonus to hit and damage.

    The black-dragonfang properties allow it to do +1 point of acid damage on a successful strike. This acid damage is treated as a non-magical extraordinary feature and it does not stack with any other type of acid damage that may also be dealt by this weapon.

    It currently has a Least Crystal of Fire Assault attached to its pommel.

    History

  • Tunaster Danik, a Wandering Cleric of Mystra from Sembia and friend of Noristuor the Mage, rewarded Kilzadi Litecaster after he exposed Shar's minion at the false temple of Mystra in Harrowdale and defeated Despayr, Shar's pet black dragon, on the Shadowplane, by crafting the Dark Shard using a talon taken from Despayr's corpse.
