This morningstar is made from a crystal that is as hard as steel. When held by a focused wielder, the crystal morningstar will fill with an inner light.

Gideon's Crystal Morningstar is a masterwork deep crystal morningstar.

Its masterwork quality provides a base +1 enhancement bonus to hit in combat.

A weapon made from deep crystal (see Expanded Psionics handbook, page 182) is no different from other weapons for a non-psionic wielder. However, a psionic wielder of a deep crystal weapon can focus psionic power through it, increasing the damage that weapon deals. As a free action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, the wielder can channel psionic power into a melee weapon or ranged weapon made of deep crystal. For 2 power points, the deep crystal weapon deals an extra 2d6 points of damage. The weapon will stay charged for 1 minute or until it scores its next hit. Deep crystal has 30 hit points per inch of thickness and a hardness of 10.

    History

  • Gideon Fireforged was given a vision from Kossuth to commission the making of a crystal morningstar to aid him in the upcoming struggle against the Darkness Rising.
  • Gideon did not know how truly tested he would be by Kossuth, what with Risca Foraker getting into fights with every other dwarf in Glen, including Thorik, the Master Smith, or with Swan Battlestar being cursed with non-stop giggles at the mere mention of the name Barandur, Egg Farmer.
  • Despite these challenges, Gideon Fireforged arranged to get the deep crystal needed to make it from Khondar, a Master Trader amongst the Dwarves of Glen in Mistledale.
  • Despite Risca Foraker's "help", Gideon Fireforged was still able to commission Thorik, a Master Smith amongst the Dwarves of Glen in Mistledale, to craft a masterwork deep crystal morningstar for him to enhance his combat abilities against the Seeker of Faerun's enemies.
