This appears to be a normal wooden log that one would toss into a fireplace, except for the fact that the closer you get, the louder a snoring noise can be heard coming from deep within the log itself.

The exact magical properties of the Snoring Log remain a mystery.

The Snoring Log is a wooden log that emits a constant loud and annoying noise of something snoring.

This could have the unintended consequences of attracting wandering monsters while out in the wilderness or annoying ones neighbors when in town.

    History:

  • A band of gnolls in the mountains west of the City of Greyhawk were using the Snoring Log or "Log of Dragon Breath" to fool everyone into thinking that there was a sleeping dragon inside their cave complex.
  • The Snoring Log was one of many magic items sacrificed to Heironeous to raise Agrona the Fierce of Saradush of Tethyr from the dead after he had been eviscerated by a giant troll.
  • It is unknown if Heironeous has kept the Snoring Log, or if he became so annoyed with it that he cast it out of the heavens and back to the world of mortals.
