This figurine is carved from granite and depicts an ancient and solemn dwarf dressed for battle and wielding a large warhammer

The exact magical properties of the Dwarven Ancester Figurine remain a mystery.

The spirit of Thorik, a Master Smith amongst the Dwarves of Glen in Mistledale, inhabits the Dwarven Ancester Figurine.

    History:

  • During the Night of Dark Tremors, the drow raided the Dwarves of Glen and took many prisoners, including Thorik, the Master Smith.
  • During the long forced march through the underdark to the drow city of Maerimydra, many dwarves, especially the frail and the old, could not keep pace and were slain by the drow.
  • Realizing their peril, Thorik secretly carved a Dwarven Ancester Figurine, but he had no choice but to use his own life force to power the enchantments needed to bring the protector to life.
  • His body weak, Thorik was left for dead in the underdark by the drow.
  • When Risca Foraker and the rest of the Seekers of Faerun found him, he uttered his last breath, asking Risca to save their fellow dwarves from the drow, and to forgive him for judging Risca an outcast.
  • The last of Thorik's life force entered the Dwarven Ancester Figurine, ready to serve and protect his fellow dwarves for all eternity.
  • Risca Foraker buried the Master Smith's body, then picked up Thorik's Dwarven Ancester Figurine, so his spirit could be with them when they rescue the Dwarves of Glen from the Drow.
