This baroque-styled heavy shield is made from mithral.
The Githyanki Warshield is a Githcraft Heavy Mithral Shield +1.
As an item made from mithral, it weighs half as much as the same item made from other metals.
Spell failure chances for shields made from mithral are decreased by 10%, maximum Dexterity bonus is increased by 2,
and armor check penalties are lessened by 3 (to a minimum of 0).
Base Cost = 1,020 gp.
The arcane spell failure chance of a githcraft shield is reduced by 5% (minimum 0%).
The wearer of a githcraft shield gains a +1 bonus on Concentration checks (does not stack if also worn with githcraft armor).
Cost = +600 gp
It has been enchanted with a +1 enhancement bonus to its armor AC.
Cost = +1 bonus = +1,000 gp.
Shield Stats (+1 version): AC = +3, max dex = na, AC check = 0, spell failure = 0%, MV = na, wt = 7.5 lbs, heavy shield, hardness = 15+2 = 17, hp = 20+10 = 30.
Some Githyanki Warshields have been enchanted with a +3 enhancement bonus to its armor AC.
This makes the shield more difficult to sunder, since in addition to needing a +3 weapon, its hardness is now greater than 20,
so adamantine weapons cannot bypass the hardness. It can also now be outfitted with greater shield crystals. In addition,
the shield AC bonus is now greater then that provided by the "shield" spell, which along with 0% arcane chance of spell failure
and the 0 AC check penalty make it a prized item by arcane spellcasters willing to carry the weight of a shield on their arm.
Cost = +3 bonus = +9,000 gp.
Shield Stats (+3 version): AC = +5, max dex = na, AC check = 0, spell failure = 0%, MV = na, wt = 7.5 lbs, heavy shield, hardness = 15+2+2+2 = 21, hp = 20+10+10+10 = 50.
